Employee Spotlight: Bid Team

Barbie Smith will celebrate 30 years at Carus in October this year. She started in 1988 in the Accounting Department and served in many roles including Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, and Staff Accountant. In 2003, Barbie joined the Sales and Marketing Team as a Bid Specialist as currently holds the position of Bid Department Manager. In Barbie's free time she likes to work-out and enjoys time with her family and grandkids. Barbie also likes to cook and finding new plant-based whole food recipes. 


Samantha Pumo recently celebrated 30 years with Carus in January 2018. She began in the Finance department as an Accounts Payable Clerk and also held positions as Accounts Receivable Clerk and Payroll Coordinator. In 2001 Samantha came to the Sales & Marketing department as a Customer Support Rep and held the position of Senior Customer Support Rep prior to her current position of Bid Specialist in the Bid Department. In Samantha's spare time she loves to read, travel, bowl, and spend time with family & friends (She is a self-proclaimed social butterfly).


Maria Bergagna started working at Carus in 2001 as Safety Secretary in the LaSalle, IL manufacturing facility. She then moved into the position of Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Operations.  In 2013 Maria transferred to Carus' Peru, IL Headquarters to join the Customer Support Team. She then became a Bid Specialist in the Bid Department. Maria earned an Associates of Arts degree at Illinois Valley Community College. In her spare time, Maria enjoys traveling and spending time with my family, especially her two sweet granddaughters.
